Rob (a fellow son of Odcombe) has designed the fantastic new banner picture. I especially like Daisy, it makes me giggle.
A big thank you to you Rob, I know how difficult it was to fit this in with all your other committments.
His web site is on the links page if you want to see more of his fab work.
We’re in a post office in Beaune, We’ve got to be quick as it’s closing soon.
From Paris Chris walked along the Siene and the Yonne rivers to Sens (which given time i’ll come back to at a later date). Here, I met up with Michele, Claire and Daisy, all looking a bit tired, as the journey down had been slightly longer than planned. After a very sunny and fun day in Paris with Claire, she headed home early in the morning with a rather large hangover, moi aussi. We then spent a few days getting Daisy and ourselves sorted before we got back on the trail of Tom in rather a different manner.
Firstly, we’re now Daisy hopping, (this is clean). Secondly, we’re changing our primary mode of transport. We don’t have horses, we don’t have carts but walking is just too slow with winter coming. We are going to walk where Tom walked and cycle when he took any other form of transport. This way we might finish before next September (as spreadsheets have predicted).
A few personal messages from us both; a big thank you to Claire for all her help, support and making the journey firstly happen on time and for getting a taste of being Thelma and Louise (look foward to seeing you and Sharpey in November), and big thanks to Chris’s Dad too for all the Daisy prep, and not missing out Donk in Holly House.
Next Steps
We’re both really looking forward to seeing KitMan next Thursday (aka John T) the current plan is to walk over the Cenis Pass next weekend, weather permitting. Then into Italy, hooray a new country. From here we’ve got approximately 800kms to Venice, then we have to find somewhere to winter?
